Work Based Learning

Petty Pool College is committed to optimising the skills and confidence our students need to gain meaningful employment when they leave.

We recognise that work experience is a key component of the Study Programme, helping students to develop the core skills, qualifications and experience needed to prepare them for a fulfilling life in the workplace.

The curriculum is designed to ensure our learners and future workforce have the necessary skills and access to local opportunities, as well being able to upskill or reskill to meet changes within industry. We also want to ensure that we can be responsive to the developing needs of employers.

We have strong links with local employers, with whom we work closely to ensure that work experience is beneficial and rewarding for both students and employers.

Employers are supported in all aspects of providing the placement, and in some cases, making the transition to offering students permanent employment.
