Going the Extra Mile for Petty Pool at the Chester Marathon!
There were plenty of reasons to cheer at this year’s MBNA Chester Marathon, as two fantastic fundraisers took on the 26.2 mile challenge in support of Petty Pool!
Conor Vallelly, of CV Planning, and Danny Rowlands joined thousands of runners on Sunday 11 October, lacing up their trainers to raise money for the young people and adults we support across Petty Pool.
Together, they’ve raised an amazing £1,716 so far, helping us continue to provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities and difficulties to develop their skills, build confidence and take their next steps towards greater independence.
Danny also has a lovely personal connection to Petty Pool, as the dog walker for our Chief Executive, Sally Garratt!
Team Petty Pool Cheers on the Runners!
It wasn’t just Conor and Danny doing their bit on the day!
Our staff, learners and volunteers were also out in force, helping to run one of the marathon’s water stations and keeping runners hydrated and encouraged as they made their way around the course.
It was a great opportunity for our learners to get stuck in, work alongside the team and be part of such a brilliant community event. We’re really proud of everyone who played their part!
Heidi Bibbi, Fundraising Manager at Petty Pool, said: “We’re incredibly proud of Conor and Danny for taking on such a huge challenge in support of Petty Pool.
“Running a marathon takes real dedication and determination, and we’re so grateful that they chose to put all that effort into supporting the young people and adults we work with.
“A huge thank you to Conor, Danny, our water station volunteers and everyone who has supported them along the way. We’re incredibly grateful!”
There’s Still Time to Show Your Support!
The running might be over, but there’s still time to show Conor and Danny some support!
