Welcome to Petty Pool
Set within 40 acres of beautiful Cheshire woodland, Petty Pool provides a unique learning environment where learners can develop confidence, independence, and employability skills in a safe and supportive setting. Our campus combines specialist learning spaces, real-work environments, outdoor facilities, and peaceful natural surroundings, creating opportunities for learners to learn, explore, and grow.
Take a virtual tour of our campus below and discover the environment that makes Petty Pool such a special place to learn.
A Site Rich in History and Looking to the Future
Our spectacular site in Sandiway is set within ancient woodland and has a rich history dating back hundreds of years.
The grounds were once home to Pettypool House, built by the Cholmondeley family in the early 1800s. During the Second World War, American troops were based on the site before it later became home to industrial and educational developments.
Since becoming home to Petty Pool Vocational College in 1999, our campus has continued to evolve to meet the needs of the learners and communities we support.
Today, our woodland setting provides a unique environment where learning extends beyond the classroom, offering opportunities for practical learning, wellbeing, work experience, and preparation for adulthood.
As demand for specialist education continues to grow, we are excited about the future development of our campus and the opportunities this will create for generations of young people to come.
Building the Future Through Project Learn Hive
We have ambitious plans to transform our site through Project Learn Hive, our £13 million appeal to create a new outdoor education and learning centre in Cheshire.
Project Learn Hive will create inspiring spaces for learning, wellbeing, community engagement, and specialist education, helping thousands of children and young people with SEND access life-changing opportunities.
Once complete, the project will support up to 6,000 school children each year and provide enhanced specialist education and opportunities for up to 160 young people with learning disabilities and difficulties.
Together, we can create a place where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
