Coronavirus Updates

Latest update: 19th March 2020, 16:00

Dear Parents and Guardians,

*** Petty Pool Vocational College will remain open ***

As you will have heard the government announced the closure of schools and colleges for all children and young people apart from those children with an Education Health Care Plan, those who are vulnerable and children of key workers.

All the students at Petty Pool have an Education Health Care Plan we will therefore remain open until we are told to close. We will also need to monitor the situation with our own staffing in order that we can remain open in a safe way.

Any disruption to supplies including cleaning materials and food might also impact opening. However, we are currently working with Cheshire College South and West, local authorities SEND and transport teams to do all we can to keep students attending.

Petty Pool is taking all necessary steps to protect our students and staff and are continuing to follow official guidance from the government and Public Health England. If you, your son/daughter or anyone you live with has either of the following symptoms, a new continuous cough and or a high temperature you must all self-isolate for 14 days.

Please ensure that we have your up to date contact details so that we are able to make contact with you to inform you that your son and daughter has become ill and you are able to come and collect them straight away. To protect students and staff we have cancelled trips and off-site visits and increasing our cleaning regime. We are also ensuring students and staff are regularly washing hands.

If you have decided to keep your son or daughter at home, we completely understand and from next week we will be setting work for students via our distance learning page. We will also keep in regular contact with you. We will also be in touch soon regarding information on free college meals

Please monitor our Facebook and social media accounts for any up to date information.

Kind Regards,

Nicola Colenso

Director of Student Services
