Art & Media Studies

In this course we develop a range of creative and
expressive skills.

As part of the Art and Media Skills course we use different media, such as pastels, paint, collage and photography to produce our art work. We choose a theme each year and look at how other artists have thought about it by visiting galleries and museums.

We also do dance and music workshops, both at college and with professional dance groups and musicians. This year we wrote music to accompany a puppet show that we had created. We have a wide range of musical instruments to use and regularly make an awful lot of noise!

As part of our drama work we do a lot of confidence building exercises, role play and team building.

In ‘Developing Media Skills’ we look at film, TV, radio and newspapers. We produce various media projects, including tapes and films. This year we were able to produce our own TV show in professional studios.
